**Term 3 Reflection on Writing Goals**

Term 2
PLAY GROUND
"Mum," I wailed. I wriggled and jerked but it was no use. I was stuck!
I felt like such a doork but then crash bang ... Nikita fell right on top of me. We were both stuck now.
We had just arrived at the adventure park in Waikanae and ran right up to the most interesting thing there. I don't know how to explain it exactly but it looked like a giant spider web. It had four holes constructed out of metal and ropes connecting them to it. Eventually we made our way out of there.
Without a thought we sprinted across the field of grass to see what else we could try not to make a fool out of ourselves on. As we crawled through tunnels and swung on swings I felt like I was a little kid again taking in every single little detail of what was happening.
We finally made it to the top of the castle that we found. I looked down at the long twisted tunnel that somewhere somehow led to sunlight. As Kita went first her scream echoed up to me. Then before I knew it, it was my turn. I put my feet out first and lurched myself down. Ahhhhh! My heart pounded as if I was scared but I was only excited.
Then suddenly broad daylight appeared.
We playfully made our way back to where mum was sitting at the other end of the park on a table covered with graffiti. Mum started to pack up her newspaper, but, before we left we had one little go on the swings. I felt like I was soaring through clouds above the beautiful blue ocean but back to reality.
“Time to go,” shouted mum we all jumped off and slowly made our way back to the car.
I really enjoyed that !

My writing goal for this story was to add personal voice to enhance my writing.
The high lighted areas represent where I think I have achieved this goal!!

2010 cameo zorb
As we made our way up the hill in the clunky old 4 wheel drive vehicle, I stared at the huge inflatable globes. Sitting waiting as if they knew we were coming all along.
We all clambered out, I gazed down at the steep, man made hill, that we were just about to roll down in a giant golf ball. As we stepped closer I suddenly got a better view of the round Zorb globes. I took notice of the small round entrance hole. As I glanced out at the rest of the background I thought of how I was going to squeeze into the entrance hole!
The Zorb ball was made up of two layers an inner ball which was where we sat, and one meter of air cushioning held up by hundreds of tiny colorful strands. It was made out of clear rubber I think.
After our ride down the zorb got its own personal ride up on a metal escalator.
The bulb shaped spheres spent their whole life sitting, waiting on a small lake for some one to use them.
It was one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life it was even better than any rollercoaster!!

2010 Camp recount
The sound of every ones foot steps on the gravel sounded like a herd of elephants coming.
We were making our way around the Wai-o-Tapu geothermal walk. So far we had only walked 300mtrs and all ready were full of information. The whole area that we were walking on was once a volcanic crater. Because of all the coiling water and acidic streams traveling under ground it cracked and crumbled and collapsed in on its self. 100s of years later it has created loads of bubbling pools for us to enjoy.
On the walls of the craters was either yellow stone or white stone these are the sulphuric acid. The solpha acid is the one that stinks really badly. My favorite crater would have to be the birds nest.
Because starlings, swallows and mynahs nest in the holes in the walls of this crater so that instead of sitting on the eggs the hot steam from the bubbling pool below heats the eggs. I think that they are some smart birds.
The last one that we looked at was the devels bathit was lime green and looked like a small lake but it was boiling hot!!
I really enjoyed learning about all the different types of acid.

I am working on my use of evaluative language. I will help the audience develop feelings about what is happening in the story through my choice of vocabulary and the way I structure my sentences.
I am learning to use paragraphs.
